Agritechnica 2023 ended about two weeks ago with a record number of visitors and JENZ is more than positive about it. "We are still completely overwhelmed by the response we received at our stand", said Elisabeth Holland, Managing Director of JENZ. "So many visitors, so much interest and so much enthusiasm for our machines - that's just great."
The new self-propelled chipper HackThor in particular caused quite a stir. The near-series prototype was admired and tested by many visitors, especially for its "JENZ Skyview" lifting option. The new self-propelled chipper has a brand new, innovative cab concept, which was developed exclusively for the chipping process for the first time and sets the highest standards in terms of ergonomics, comfort and efficiency. "The HackThor is a real highlight in our portfolio and we are very proud that it has attracted so much attention," says Holland.
In addition to the HackThor, influencer Alina (@alinas_landleben) attracted many visitors with her John Deere 7810 and the trailed BA 916 AGRAR shredder. The two PTO machines HEM 542 Z and 841 Z were also in great demand. Visitors took the opportunity to find out more about the machines and ask technical questions in a personal dialog.
"The fair team did an excellent job. The dedication and commitment of everyone involved was great and the visitors noticed that too," concluded Holland. "Agritechnica 2023 will be remembered as one of the most successful trade fairs for JENZ."
Many thanks to everyone who visited us at Agritechnica!

As part of the planned company succession, Uwe Hempen-Hermeier retired from the operational business on 1 July 2021 after around 30 years on the Executive board and has been acting in an advisory function since then. As of 31 October 2023, he has now resigned completely. "The company has developed well in recent years and many forward-looking projects have been initiated. I have great confidence in the next generation to lead JENZ successfully into the future," says the senior boss.
The departure of Uwe Hempen-Hermeier from the Executive Board will not result in any changes for employees, dealers or customers. JENZ will continue to be managed by the Managing Directors Elisabeth Holland and Hans Heinrich Hermeier. The shareholder structure remains unaffected.

Just a few days left and AGRITECHNIA 2023 will start. JENZ will present our biggest development project of the past years: the HackThor! The new self-propelled chipper has a brand new, innovative cab concept, which has been developed exclusively for the chipping process for the first time and places the highest demands on ergonomics, comfort and efficiency.
Join us in a new era of driver orientation! HackThor - One Driver, Zero Compromises!
There will also be exciting developments in the field of PTO chippers. Among other things, the HEM 542 Z PTO chipper, designed for tractor outputs between 150 and 300 hp, will be on show. Thanks to innovative sieve technology and a further developed D1 rotor, the smallest professional machine achieves throughputs of 140 m3/h. In addition to the HEM 542 Z, the proven large chipper HEM 841 Z for tractors with 244 to 544 hp will also be on display.
JENZ will also be presenting a new agricultural variant of the BA 916 two-axle shredder, which is specially designed for processing biogas substrates and is aimed in particular at farmers, contractors and biogas plant operators. In addition to fixed tools, the BA 916 AGRAR also scores with special screens and features for processing sugar beets as an alternative to corn as an energy crop.
We are looking forward to your visit in Hall 26!

As prices for fossil fuels increase, so does the importance of woody biomass, and it is also necessary to process materials that are difficult to recycle, such as waste wood, as fuel. This is exactly the principle behind the development of the largest JENZ biomass processor to date, the BA 1016, as well as the company's first-time participation as an exhibitor at the "RecyclingAktiv & TiefbauLive" demonstration trade fair.
In particular, JENZ would like to use the Wood and Biomass action area to present the new flagship in the shredder range in waste wood applications. With 812 hp drive power, a particularly heavy rotor and a large inlet width of 1,620 mm, the large shredder is ultimately the expert when it comes to processing particularly massive material, such as scrap wood, roots, cross-cut timber, etc., and the achievement of enormous throughput rates.
To ensure that large quantities of material can flow off not only unhindered and quickly, but also with little fuel and wear, JENZ relies on an extra large screening surface and a specially developed discharge conveyor. All in all, the new BA 1016 is the perfect combination of high throughput potential, targeted operator solutions and sound knowledge from JENZ chipper technology, setting new standards in the shredder sector.

As early as 2001 JENZ installed a biomass heating system with an output of 320 kW on the company premises in Wegholm, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by approx. 108,000 kg annually. The first photovoltaic system followed in 2008 and was continuously expanded up to 2012. Since then, the company has been CO2-neutral in terms of its balance sheet. In November 2021 the woodchip heating system was replaced by a new, more powerful heating system with an output of 540 kW, which will also supply the company residential buildings in the neighbourhood in future.
The person responsible for the local heating project is senior partner Uwe Hempen-Hermeier, who has largely withdrawn from the operational business. "Connecting to our houses in the neighbourhood has been a long-standing wish of mine. We have now met the requirements for this with the new, larger biomass boiler. The old oil heating systems running in the houses consume about 14,000 l. of heating oil per year. We will save that after the completion of our local heating pipeline," Mr Hempen-Hermeier was pleased to say. "First of all, we want to gather experience this winter to see whether the system works as reliably as intended. That is why the old oil heating systems were not completely dismantled straight away," explained the senior boss.
Hot water from the woodchip heating system on the JENZ premises is fed with high efficiency through a new thermally insulated pipe system underneath the main road into the buildings' heating systems. It was easy and straightforward to acquire the required pipes and transfer stations. However, construction in the existing buildings did lead to some surprises. "I did expect it to be a bit easier in a few areas," Mr Hempen-Hermeier admitted openly. "For example, when laying the pipes the construction workers had to be careful not to cut the new fibreoptic network or sever the guide wires for the robot lawnmower. The excavator operator therefore had to be very careful and that took time."
On balance, however, the project is generating a great deal of satisfaction among all those involved in these times of energy crisis. "The heat in our tenants' flats will thus be independent of oil and we can face the winter confidently on the basis of renewable energy from local forests," said Mr Hempen-Hermeier optimistically. Local heating project Heat from the neighbourhood: In future, the woodchip heating system on the JENZ premises will supply other buildings in Petershagen-Wegholm. Saving 14,000 litres of heating oil: Senior boss Uwe Hempen-Hermeier is planning to replace old oil heating systems in four surrounding buildings thanks to the local heating network.

After a two-year forced break from Corona, the first trade fairs and events returned in spring 2022. The JENZ highlight this year: the Professional Days in mid-June at the company's headquarters in Petershagen - Friedewalde.
In 2019, the JENZ Professional Days took place for the first time. Great interest as well as positive feedback suggested a second edition of the JENZ in-house exhibition. "Last year, our company turned 100 years old. However, the pandemic forced us to be able to hold the big anniversary celebrations as well as our customer event only this year," reports Managing Director Elisabeth Holland.
The event started on the long holiday weekend over Corpus Christi with two exclusive days for customers and invited guests. JENZ designed the in-house exhibition this year with a festival ambience. The stage under a large round-roof tent formed the center of the site and served as a venue for presenting the many new introductions and detailed innovations. "We have developed and optimized a lot in recent months and are pleased that we were finally able to present these to customers in person and live again after the long Corona period," said Managing Director Hans Heinrich Hermeier.
The line-up of this year's Professional Days was impressive: whether the new presentation of the compact PTO chipper HEM 542 Z , premiere of the largest JENZ shredder BA 1016 or the presentation of the new cab concept of the MAN TG3. In total, JENZ presented almost 15 different machines in about three hours of live demonstration, including biomass conditioner, PTO chipper, truck chipper and a prototype large chipper.
The event was rounded out by a rustic street food evening on the JENZ company grounds. "Finishing off this impressive day with a good beer and casual ambiance made the event perfect for us," says Mike Symons of U.K.-based JENZ dealer CRJ Services Ltd.
"We had more than 8,000 horsepower live in action and are delighted with the great response to our event, as we welcomed a total of around 800 guests from around 25 countries. This makes this year's Professional Days, also on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, the biggest event ever in JENZ company history," says Elisabeth Holland.
